A Spanish school gifts the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization with 40 paintings by its students about famous Egyptian tourist and archaeological destinations.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat received a commemorative flag and 40 paintings on Egypt’s most famous tourist and archaeological destinations, which were drawn by 40 first-graders and their tutor from “Nuestra Señora del Carmen”, a primary school from the Spanish-Andalusian village of Torre de la Reina.
In a friendly gesture, the Spanish Cultural Counselor Candido Chris, presented the drawings to Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, the Managing Executive Director of NMEC, as part of a cultural initiative embarked by the students of Nuestra Senora del Carmen, titled “Walking around in different Museums of the world”, on the occasion for the centennial discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, and as an affirmation of the importance of Egyptology and the world’s fondness for the ancient Egyptian civilization.
Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim and Ms. Lamia Kamel, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, invited these students through a short video clip to visit Egypt and enjoy watching its tourist and archaeological landmarks, especially the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
